Term times & Subjects

The International Foundation Year, International Year One and Pre-Masters Preparation programmes are now fully approved by UKVI to be on the same CAS as the subsequent university degree. With this, students will only need one visa for their whole time studying – including both their International Study Centre programme and university degree.

Without the need to return home between programmes to renew their visa, international students are able to experience life over the summer, without the pressures of studying. 

Students now also have alternative options to IELTS for UKVI before joining the International Year One or Pre-Masters Preparation programmes. For those who do need to improve their English before starting their programme, we are offering a complimentary 4 to 8 week English Language Preparation course to students planning to study the foundation year. Courses offer a variety of different options for students looking to improve their English, with progression options to all our programme offerings. 

For the Foundation Year and International Year One and Pre-Masters courses, students will be able to apply for every pathways.

The course pathways are: 

  • Business
  • Engineering
  • Arts
  • Humanities & Social Sciences

Term times are vary in varies ways. It also varies based on the course length and if the student requires any English Language preparation or not. Most of the courses are 3 or 4 terms unless you have to do an extra English Language term as well which is usually 4 to 12 weeks time period.

However, the basic term times are as follows:

  • January
  • June
  • September

What Happens during and after completion

Once you start any of the courses mentioned above, you will receive a conditional offer letter from the University for the further progression degree. N.B: You have to fulfil the requirements as per university demands. As soon as you complete the degree and meet the university requirements, University will give you an unconditional offer for your further degree which will be your actual degree (Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree). 

In general, Foundation or Pre-masters courses are provided to those who needs to improve their knowledge and credibility to adopt the structure of the UK education system whom educational qualifications doesn’t match with the university requirements.  This is an opportunity for students to complete this Foundation or Pre-masters degree and make an application to their dream universities.
